Verge Digital, a digital first content creation and marketing agency, has organized a forum dubbed ‘Converge III’ with a line-up of experts to look at  AI in the digital communications space.

The event is scheduled for Friday 2nd February 2024 at Four Points Hurlingham in Nairobi, at a fee of Ksh8,500 per attendee. The experts will be delving into how marketers can leverage AI as a tool to gain insights and make better-informed decisions in their processes. Below are bios of the panelists.

Cedric Nzomo will be moderating the session. He is a co-founder and Content Director at Verge Digital with clients across East & West Africa, and trains creators, marketers, and executives on online storytelling.

Tabbz Maina: With over 15 years of Marketing and Communications experience across diverse sectors, Tabbz Maina is a versatile professional skilled in Storytelling, Strategic Planning, Business Development, Stakeholder Management, and Media Management. Having developed a passion for Technology during her tenure at IBM, she seamlessly integrates storytelling into various roles. She is a Communications graduate from Daystar University and holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from ESAMI in collaboration with Maastricht School of Management. She is currently the head of Marketing and Communications at Microsoft, Africa Development Centre.

George Mbithi (MPRSK), is an experienced Corporate and Development Communications professional with over 14 years of experience. Currently the Senior Communications Manager at Palladium’s Corporate Office in Kenya. He is proficient in delivering communications training programs, influencing policy decisions, managing strategic partnerships, and ensuring consistent messaging aligned with organisational values. He has worked for organisations such as USAID, FCDO, The Kingdom of Netherlands, the World Bank, Gatsby Charitable Foundation, among others, on national, regional, and international levels.

Charleen Murira is a qualified Digital Media, Marketing & Sales Expert with more than 8 years in Corporate Communications, specializing in Digital Media and E-commerce. Her experience spans various sectors, including Financial Services, E-Learning, Retail, Real Estate, Technology, Manufacturing, and Construction. She is currently a Senior Business Development Manager at Eskimi where she oversees strategic clients in Kenya and Uganda with a focus on Programmatic solutions.

Francis Karugah is a seasoned content creator and digital strategist with over a decade of communication experience in East Africa and West Africa. With a background in copywriting for renowned brands like Unilever, Coca-Cola, and Kenya Airways, he transitioned to digital marketing 12 years ago, leading the establishment of the first digital unit within SCANAD. Over his 14 years in the advertising industry, Francis, now VP of IndaHash, has transformed digital marketing in the region, fostering unique connections with consumers and driving measurable results for various brands including PSK, L’Oreal, Jambojet, STANBIC, KRA, RUBIS, APA Diageo, and Sanlam.
