Over 15 films from East Africa were recognized at the Mombasa International Film Festival (MIFF). MIFF is a celebration of local and international cinema, offering a diverse selection of films from talented filmmakers.

The awards are organized by reputable partners Mombasa County Government, Swahilipot Hub and Alliance Française in partnership with the Kenya Film Commission. This year’s glamorous event was held on Saturday 27th January at Fort Jesus in Mombasa Old Town.

  • Best Documentary- Kiswahili Kitukuzwe (Kenya)

  • Best Cinematographer- Andrew Bradford (Where The River Divides)- Kenya
  • Best Scriptwriter- Shelly Gitonga (Act of Love)- Kenya
  • Best Actor- Keith Chuaga (Visasi)- Kenya
  • Best Actress- Grace Ngaracu (Eastzuu)- Kenya
  • Best Child Performer- Kabuye Cloe (Crystal)- Uganda
  • Best Sound Designer- Monicah Mugo (Mzuka)- Kenya
  • Best Editor- Derek Hammeke & MD Neely (Where The River Divides)- Kenya
  • Best International Feature Film Award- Heroes of Africa (Ghana)
  • Best Short Film- Act of Love (Kenya)
  • Best Coastal Film- Eastzuu (Kenya)
