Training for upcoming young artists by Uweza Foundation, Preparing for Creative Business

This week, Uweza Foundation had a training for visual artists that turned technical! The trainees had the chance to engage with and learn from two established artists based in Nairobi.

First, the attendees discussed the elements of art and received insights on monetizing their creations from artist and creative business owner Endo Patti.

Next, the artists learned about painting techniques in a colorful session led by the talented illustrator and mural artist Chela ‘Chelwek’.

Both sessions provided the artists with the chance to put knowledge into practice, sparking fresh insights and new ideas on the spot.

One of the goals of this project by Uweza Arts is to explore how they can support more female artists entering the creative industry so it was particularly inspiring to engage with two successful female artists who have achieved prominence in the field.
