The dramatic Luo love story, “OTIS JANAM,” has made the Official Selection for the 27th Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), set to be held from 1st to 4th August 2024. Since its premiere on 28th March at the KALASHA International Film & Television Market and simultaneously worldwide on MyMovies.Africa, the feature film by Dr. Zippy Okoth has become the most-watched title on MyMovies.Africa in 2024.

For those who missed the premiere, MyMovies.Africa has organized a special screening and discussion at #WeWatchKenyan, taking place at OUT Reality, The Mall (basement), Westlands – Nairobi, on Saturday, 27th July. The event will begin at 6:00 pm with the screening starting at 7:00 pm, followed by a Q&A session with the cast and crew from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

 “OTIS JANAM” tells the story of Janam, played by Nick Kwach, a seemingly lazy fisherman whose life changes dramatically when he wins a boat racing championship, leading him to win the heart of Api, played by Sarah Masese, the daughter of the wealthiest man in the village. As their romance unfolds, Janam faces challenges that could redefine his destiny.
